Preparation Process at Blessed Sacrament

Children at Blessed Sacrament Parish normally celebrate their First Communion during the second grade year after Easter.  In addition to the instruction the children receive in the school or PSR program, the preparation process includes a family component.  There are two sessions for parents and children, usually in January and February.  The first session focuses on the Mass and the second on the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.  In addition, there is a rehearsal during the week before the celebration.  Families receive a Family Guide and a child’s book at the first session to use at home in preparing their children for the celebration of the sacrament.
